The wearable market is growing each day with companies providing innovative solutions for various aspects of life. From activity and performance tracking to preventive healthcare or smart clothing, here are a couple of great companies to look out for!
Sensoria:
Sensoria is a leading developer of wearables in smart garments and one of the finalists in Smart Clothing Category in WT Innovation World Cup 2015. Sensoria announced a new product, the Sensoria Fitness v2.0 app, to monitor sudden cardiac arrest and continuous monitoring of the heart. In case sudden changes are detected, a cardiologist-created algorithm called Heart Sentinel alerts the wearer with a countdown as well as connects with GPS coordinates to seek medical help immediately. Most recently, Sensoria was awarded for its innovative business model from the Frost & Sullivan’s Growth Innovation & Leadership award event in Silicon Valley. Sensoria is also considered as one of the top companies to invest in wearables.
ProGlove:
In 2015 Proglove was the winner of the WT Innovation World Cup in the Category “Safety & Security”. ProGlove is a smart glove with embedded sensors and scanners that enable manufacturing and logistics staff to work faster and more safely. The smart glove is designed to make day-to-day work easier and quicker for the wearer. The device shows, for example, whether the right part is being used and whether production steps are being correctly followed. In May 2016 ProGlove raised $2.2 million Series A financing from Intel Capital, GETTYLAB and Bayern Kapital to accelerate production and launch their smart glove system. And the success story continued immediately afterwards: In August 2016 car manufacturer Skoda announced to implement and working with ProGlove within their logistic processes.
Pancreum:
Pancreum is a medical device company that is developing an affordable multi-drug delivery platform, which may be used to address numerous chronic health conditions, such as diabetes. The overall winner of the WT Innovation World Cup “Healthcare & Wellness” category in 2012 has developed a low-cost semi-disposable diabetes management system (Genesis), which has the ability to function as a bionic pancreas. On August 2, 2016 Pancreum was awarded a patent which protects its innovative Disease Management System consisting of a reusable programmable core (CoreMD) that controls various disposable sensors and drug delivery devices. This patent further protects the ability for the CoreMD to wirelessly communicate and power the various sensors and drug delivery devices.
Gait Up:
Gait Up is going to make a big change in the life of professional athletes and sports enthusiasts. Their new generation sensing device ‘Physilog’, will be released on October 14th, 2016. The device has undergone an upgrade, with a micro USB port for a faster file transfer system with universal charging as well as a standard file format for a user-friendly interface. The wearable is very compact and ergonomically fits on the shoes or chest. Gait Up also analysing the movement patterns of skiers, swimmers and players of team sports in real time.
CityZen Sciences:
CityZen Sciences hands on with Advansa fibers announced the first connected pillow on the occasion of the World Sleep Day. The smart pillow is equipped with micro sensors to track sleep cycles, noise, and movements. It is a real sleeping coach that monitors and processes the sleep data and advises people to improve their sleeping habits. CityZen Smart Technology Co. Ltd has created a joint venture based in Shanghai with Meddo Medical Devices, also stepping into the Chinese market, estimated to represent 360 million people in 2030. CityZen Sciences is also another finalist in the category of Healthcare & Wellness of the WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup 2015/16
